The Gardendale Planning and Zoning Commission will be meet on Thursday, January 13th to hear a request from JN Investments, LLC as to rezoning approximately 6.1 acres along Main Street into high use residential for townhouses.
JN Investments seeks a positive recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission to the Gardendale City Council on the request. If the request is approved to be recommended to the city council, then the residents would have the opportunity to voice any concerns.
What type of townhouses would be built has yet to be shown publicly, but may be shown at the January 13th meeting.
A source told Gardendale News that any new townhouse construction would have differences when compared to the Jamestown Manor townhouse development further down Main Street due to the 2013 Zoning Ordinance now in place. Among other things, that ordinance would preclude the use of vinyl siding in townhouse construction.
Gardendale News will be covering the meeting on January 13th as we continue to follow the development. The Gardendale Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at the Gardendale City Hall at 6:30pm.
