Eli Moore Hurls 10 Strikeouts as Rockets Handle Highly Ranked 7A Florence

The Rockets arrived this morning to the Gulf Coast Classic with a 2-0 record in the tournament and a ton of momentum as they prepared to face highly ranked in 7A Florence.

Gardendale brought out ace right-hander, Eli Moore, in the start. Moore through 10 strikeouts through just under 7 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs and throwing 119 strikes to 30 batters faced.

Kyle Norris closed it out for the Rockets, facing the final 2 batters and adding a strikeout.

Gardendale led 3-1 through 5 innings and got the inning they needed to give them the lead they needed with a 3 run 6th that was enough to sustain Florence picking up 2 runs in the 7th.

Nick Rigdon, Caiden Combs, Juan Pablo Morales, JD Salters and Grant Chandler all contributed a hit for the Rockets, and Kyle Norris and Ty McGraw had multiple hits.

McGraw led the Rockets with 3 hits and Norris led with 2 RBIs.

The Rockets had 11 hits total against just 2 strikeouts.

The Rockets get little rest as they move forward to take on St. Michael’s this afternoon.
