The Bragg Girls Softball team entered the Metro Tournament today with Oak Mountain as the first opponent in their bracket.
Emma Deck started on the mound for the Rockets and Whitley Patterson came in to close it out. They combined to hold the Oak Mountain Eagles to 6 hits and 5 runs.
Bragg started strong going up 8-1 after the 2nd inning. The Eagles made up 4 runs in the 3rd inning to bring the score to 8-5 through 3. Both teams had no runs in the 4th and Bragg put the game away in the 5th with 5 unanswered runs.
Layla Berry, Zoe Caufield, Annie Aguirre, Deck and Aniya Tyson all had a hit for Bragg and Emerson Murrell, Alexis Piersol, Paisley Orazine and Chloe Sanders had multiple hits. Orazine led the Rockets with 4 RBIs.
The Rockets had 13 hits to match their 13 runs.
The Lady Rockets move on in the Metro tournament playing at 9:30am tomorrow against #1 seeded Berry.
