Gardendale City Council Approves Teacher Allocation Funding

The Gardendale City Council recently approved Resolution No. 2022-093 giving four local public schools funding for teachers to use in their classrooms. Each school received funding in line with the number of teaching units within each school for the school year beginning August 2022.

The total amount was $47,625. The city gives $250 per teaching unit each year out of the special ad valorem tax account where the “5-mil property tax” is housed and is earmarked specifically for “public school purposes.”

Gardendale Elementary received $13,500.
Snow Rogers Elementary received $6,750.
Bragg Middle School received $10,750.
Gardendale High School received $16,625.
