Contractors are continuing to work on the new Mach-1 Express Wash on Fieldstown Road in Gardendale and Cayla Machleit, who runs operations for the parent company, says that her company is focused on a mid-November opening date.
Mach-1 is gearing up to begin hiring workers. “We’ve hired a manager for this location and will begin looking for an additional 6 to 8 other team members in the next week or two,” said Machleit.
Mach-1 owns several locations throughout the United States, but is headquartered in Centre, Alabama. When asked why her company chose Gardendale, Machleit said much goes into site selection for each new location. “We look for synergies in the area and the opportunity to expand, among other factors. Our home base isn’t too far from Gardendale, so when the opportunity presented itself, we were excited about the prospect of joining such a great community. Luck for us, the city has been great to work with, and we’ve met some amazing people already.”
Permits filed with the Gardendale Building Inspection Department show the project at $2,064,040 for the cost of improvement, electrical, plumbing and heating and air work.
