Colby Robertson Named Firefighter of the Year in Morris

Captain Colby Robertson, with the Morris Fire Department, was awarded the distinguished Firefighter of the Year award last Friday night by Fire Chief Mike Prisoc for his service and important contributions to the department and community.

Robertson and his wife and 2 sons are Morris residents and Robertson also serves as a Firefighter and Paramedic with the Vestavia Hills Fire Department.

Chief Prisoc told the Herald that Robertson was instrumental in having the department’s Advanced Life Support license reinstated. It was a process that required long hours outside of his regular duties.

Prisoc further stated that Robertson is “selfless, compassionate and knowledgeable at being a paramedic. Colby is the guy you want with you when you pull up to things out of control or someone’s worst day. He just gets it! Everything else you get with him is just icing on the cake.”
