The 6A State Dual Championships begin today throughout Alabama with 16 schools represented in round 1.
Both Mortimer Jordan High School and Gardendale High School Wrestling Teams are in the top half of the overall bracket and both schools have the opportunity to earn a spot in the state semi-finals if they win Round 1 and Round 2 that take place tonight at MJHS.
Gardendale will take on Pell City at 5pm at MJHS in Round 1.
MJHS will follow up at 6pm against Oxford High in Round 1.
There is the potential for MJHS and GHS to meet in Round 2 at 7pm with the winner moving through to the state semi-finals against the winner out of the other teams in the top part of the bracket – Hartselle, Mae Jemison, Fort Payne and Athens.
