The Mortimer Jordan Blue Devil wrestling team came into the 6A State Duals Championships needing to defeat two powerhouse programs on Thursday night at home to advance to the semi-finals.
They easily handled Oxford in Round 1 by a score of 62-16, while Gardendale High School handled Pell City 54-24 in Round 1.
The anticipated matchup in Round 2 between Mortimer Jordan and Gardendale was one by MJHS 47-24 and sets up a semi-final matchup for MJHS with Hartselle at Hartselle High School on January 17th at 5pm.
