Pastor Draper Rogers: Level Up Your Life Game

Are you ready to level up your life game? I was recently listening to a podcast that featured Pete Carroll, head football coach for the Seattle Seahawks, and his three simple rules for his team. And let me tell you, these rules aren’t just for athletes. They’re for all of us!

Rule #1 – Always protect the team. This rule means players should always have their team’s back on or off the field. Your actions and behavior should reflect positively on the team.

Rule #2 – No whining, no complaining, no excuses. This rule is all about mindset.

Rule #3 – Be early. This rule is all about priorities and respect. Being early shows that the player values other people’s time and efforts.

As I listened to Coach Carroll speak, I realized that we all live by rules, whether we know it or not. These rules can be personal values, moral codes, or simply life strategies. But the question is, what are your rules?

Do you have a set of rules that guide your actions and interactions with others? Do the people around you know what those rules are? What are your rules based on? Are they just based on your desires, or do they have a higher purpose? As a follower of Christ, my two simple rules are to love God with all my heart, mind, and soul and to treat my neighbor as myself.

Imagine a world where everyone followed these two rules. It would be a game-changer! So, let’s all take some time to reflect on our own rules and how we can positively impact those around us.
