With much social media buzz locally about Mexican restaurant, El Patron, in Fultondale, the Herald dropped by for a late Saturday lunch to check out the hot spot.
El Patron did not disappoint. The lunch menu is served Monday through Saturday until 3pm which was nice to see.

A staff member was at our table in seconds with a generous portion of chips and fresh salsa and our waitress was at our table within seconds after that to collect our drink orders. We also asked for some cheese dip because that’s a must.
She came back to our table several times throughout our meal and never seemed hurried and always smiling and polite. She made the meal experience delightful.
At $8.99 for lunch fajitas, we were unanimous all around in trying them. The portions relative to lunch pricing was unexpected and impressive.

More than just the food and service, El Patron sets the atmosphere inside with touches of Mexico. The Mexican cultural tile art on the booths and chairs give you the feeling of being in Mexico.
It’s a welcome touch and lends itself to a fun and festive atmosphere.
El Patron has a nice and large bar area with multiple large screen TVs, making it a great place to watch sports while enjoying a meal.
From the portions on the lunch menu and the pricing to the excellent service and décor, we came away from the experience unanimously adding it to our short list of favorite restaurant spots in North Jefferson.
