The Gardendale Planning & Zoning Commission will hold public hearings at its September 14th meeting at Gardendale City Hall.
On tap will be a public hearing for a “conditional use” approval requested by La Quinta Gardendale, LLC, the owner of land at 2301 Mount Olive Road. This land is next to Jack’s Restaurant.
The requested approval would clear the way for the development of a new hotel on the property that is close to the new Bill Noble Park that attracts visitors from all across the Southeast for baseball and softball tournaments.
The land is zoned C-2 commercial and according to the City of Gardendale’s Zoning Ordinance 2013-02 Section 6.16, the permitted uses in this zone as referenced in Table 6.16.2 allow for a hotel.
This is a public hearing and residents may voice their opinions for or against when it is held at 6pm on September 14th.
