Vote Nears for New Hotel on Mount Olive Road

A new La Quinta Hotel has been proposed in Gardendale very near the line into Mount Olive at 2301 Mount Olive Road.

La Quinta Gardendale, LLC owns the property and is requesting a favorable vote on Thursday, September 14th from the appointed Board members of the Gardendale Planning & Zoning Commission on a “Conditional Use” for the property.

The City of Gardendale’s Consulting City Engineer, Richard Nail II, sent a letter to the City’s Building Inspection Superintendent, Blake Castleberry, dated August 31st, stating that after reviewing drawings from Insite Engineering for the proposed development, that he believes that all “items have been addressed and meet Sec. 111-91 Conditional Uses of the Gardendale Zoning Ordinance.”

A favorable vote should clear the way for the first major development to arise after the 30+ million dollar Bill Noble Park was redeveloped.

The Planning & Zoning Commission meeting is an open and public meeting. It will take place on Thursday, September 14th at 6pm at the Gardendale City Hall.
