The Gardendale Police Department, through the help of State Senator Shay Shellnut, received a grant from the Community Service Fund that is available to state legislators.

The grant was for $39,435.71 and was used by the GPD for a new UTV (Utility Vehicle) to aid the GPD in times they are searching for suspects off-road. The Department chose a Polaris Ranger XP.
